I like everything about my fridge except the fridge door shelves. They are weak and keep breaking at the support points. They really cannot withstand the weight of two gallons of milk. It's unfortunate because they cost $45 each to replace! That is a lot for a small piece of molded plastic. Frigidaire should replace them at cost or make them a one time complimentary customer appreciation initiative.

I bought this thing in 2016. From day 1 the ice maker has been a time suck and a source of frustration multiple times per day. The ice dispenser clogs several times each day, and it requires opening the freezer door to unclog the hole through which the ice cubes must fall to the glass or other receptacle. There is clearly a fundamental design flaw. The hole is too small or the ice maker creates ice cubes are too large. Despite several service calls and extended service calls, this problem has never abated. The company should have some kind lemon law that either replaces the the part or the entire appliance.

The ice maker will only dispense crushed cubes as you can no longer select cubed. The ice maker sounds like someone has a hammer inside of the unit before it drops. The baskets in the freezer don't stay in tracks. If you try to slide them the entire basket falls.

This thing sounds like it's possessed. It moans and groans constantly and can be hear throughout the house. Had repair man come out, he replaced the crooked ice maker bracket and I asked him if he replaced the motor cause when he came to first look at it, he said it sounded like a bad motor. He said he did replace it, but it is almost worse than it was prior to the service call. The ice flap gets stuck in the open position and it's like hitting the ice cube lottery! Cubes flying everywhere and to make it stop you have to let it empty out! Hard to do when the glass is full already! The flap also has a tendency to stay in the open position which allows a stray cube to melt on the floor leaving a nice puddle to step in! Replaced a 15 year old Frigidaire Gallery Side by Side with this newer version and I am so disappointed! All my other 15 year old Frigidaire appliances will need replacing soon and I hesitate to buy another Frigidaire! I do have Video of the noise but am unable to attach due to lack of knowledge! I did play it for the service tech and he actually was present when it started moaning. Older fellow, maybe his hearing is bad and he didn't really hear it!

Continuous Problems

I bought this product less than 3 years ago. I did purchase an extended warranty through the store I purchased from, thinking I wouldn't need to use it. WRONG! I had a problem within the first year with the Evaporator fan causing an error code. Very loud fan noise. They said it would be a few days before they could service it so I moved everything out of it and unplugged it and opened the doors. When they came to fix it, it was working again. Apparently the ice that was on the fan had melted since it was unplugged. I did notice that it would have huge temperature swings after that. No other problems until it started doing it again 8 months later. This time I left it plugged in and they had to thaw it all out. They said the ice maker was leaking and replaced it. 8 months later it was the same thing again. It isn't the ice maker that is the problem. It is the way the water comes into the ice maker and drips down into the back of the freezer. This time I thawed it out myself and turned the ice maker off. It made it about 10 months and then started with a new error code. "OP" They came out and replaced sensors and a control module under the fridge because the service man talked to "Frigidaire" and they told him this was the only thing that would cause this code. Still didn't work and and had the same code. The repair man said he was going to put it in as needing replaced. Unfortunately the "Extended Warranty" company decided to just buy out the remainder of the contract which was minus the service work and parts so I am out a fridge in less than 3 years on a 5 year extended warranty. I only get the difference from original price minus the several service calls which won't even buy me a new one. When the guy from the store asked me if I wanted to get another one like this one I told him "No way will I get another Frigidaire."
