Let me start by saying I worked as a barista for a year or so while I was in college so I have a decent idea of how espresso machines work and how to make a good drink. had I not had this experience, I may have had a little trouble getting going quicker because there are some things that are somewhat difficult to do. The sump (which is the part with the handle that holds the espresso) is a little difficult to lock into place until you really get the hang of how it feels. Also getting a nice foam on the milk is tricky because of the size of the container and the length of the steamer nozzle. But all this being said, it’s a really nice machine that makes a delicious espresso. And it’s very sleek looking and because there’s really not many buttons it’s quite straightforward. I definitely would recommend this machine for someone who wants a nice espresso machine that looks cool while doing it and doesn’t take up a ton of space.

I have been drinking espresso drinks mainly for about three years now. The GE Profile Semi Automatic Espresso Machine and frother has been an amazing addition to my coffee counter. The first thing out of the box the machine is very attractive and sleek. I was able to get the machine set up with first time use instructions in about 30 minutes. This included cleaning and prepping the machine. The built in grinder and hopper has been a great addition as well because it grinds the beans in a quick step before brewing. I am still in the process of learning how I like my espresso beans ground, but the product that comes out of the machine is top notch. The frother is easy to use, although a bit stiff to get used to. I can't wait fully utilize all the bells and whistles of this machine.

First, I've never used a personal espresso machine before so all of this was brand new to me. With that being said, I had a lot to learn with this machine. There are A LOT of pieces (way more than the standard coffee machine I'm used to) required to make this function. The instructions are pretty intense and it takes some pretty intense reading to even know where to start if you are a novice like me. The pieces are super substantial and it's clear that they are well made. With that, though, I did feel like some of the pieces didn't fit quite as snugly as I assumed they should? When I tried to twist the espresso arm into place, it felt like I was breaking the machine to get it into a "locked" position. I also felt that the steamer was a little weirdly placed. It was another piece where I was hesitant to move it too much because it did feel like it was going to break. On the pro side, though, I thought it was very cool that the grinder was built into this machine. I'm not interested in buying an entirely different variety of coffee just for my occasional espresso and this made it much easier to transition from my regular coffee machine to this machine. I also liked that the steamer just dispensed hot water as an option, making the machine a little more multi-use (I've used this function for tea and hot chocolate, too!) The lights on the display made this feel very high tech (and they're pretty to look at!) The machine does make a lot of noise which made me kind of feel like I was doing something wrong but that doesn't really affect the function at all. Overall, it's probably great if you are an espresso aficionado but it is a commitment to really make the most of the machine, both time-wise and knowledge-wise.

I love this espresso machine! I can make cafe quality drinks at home. The grinder can be adjusted for more coarse/fine grind on whole coffee beans. They come with different portafilter baskets. The machine also connects to wifi through the SmartHQ app on your phone. You can change the amount of water extracted and it will notify you when the water level is too low. The milk frother is also amazing, I can create microfoam for my lattes and cappuccinos!

I lived in Europe for a while and got very picky about my coffee and espresso. I’ve owned two other popular brand espresso machines but I always felt they were never that top notch quality that I’d expect with a high end machine. This GE Profile espresso machine gets it perfect every single cup. It has 15 grind settings which I feel really helps you get a great shot with crema. The unboxing and setup is super easy. The steam wand/frother rotates and makes a great latte. The quality of the machine is sturdy and appears very well made. I’ve had machines I’m the past that were a bit complicated to figure out and none of my house guests could ever make a quick cup of espresso. This GE is finally made to where if you have guests come over it’s a quick simple process without a lot of extra steps. Overall this is a well built coffee maker that is built to last years that makes an excellent cup of espresso that even coffee snobs are sure to love. This machine replaced a very popular model I owned for years and I just feel it gives you more of a consistent brew every time.
